Understanding how Stringer calculates usage and billing

Free Tier

Every account includes free tokens to get started. Use them to convert and translate your first files at no cost.

How Tokens Are Calculated

Stringer calculates tokens based on actual code that needs processing, not raw file size. Before counting tokens, we remove:

  • Style blocks (<style> tags)
  • Import statements
  • Export statements
  • Config files and non-translatable files

You only pay for processing files that may contain user-facing strings.

What's Free

You are not charged for:

  • Automatic i18n configuration setup
  • URL-based routing setup
  • Files that are skipped or filtered out
  • Failed conversions — only successful conversions are billed

Cancellation Policy

If you cancel a conversion midway, you're only charged for files successfully converted before cancellation.
